Infos für Lehrer und Lehrerinnen: Dieses Arbeitsblatt kann man ganz am Anfang der Einheit / des Themas einsetzen. Schüler und Schülerinnen brauchen nicht unbedingt Vorkenntnisse zum Thema Deutschsprachige in Australien haben. Die Schüler und Schülerinnen sollen einfach diese (zwar nicht echten) Schlagzeilen lesen und versuchen, sich in die Rolle eines damaligen Journalisten hineinzuversetzen, und sollen auf der Grundlage der Schlagzeilen einen kurzen Zeitungsbericht schreiben. Several German emigrants in different parts of Australia described in 2006 how they celebrate Christmas in Australia. Students can read (in German) the statements of these emigrants (PDF download) as well as read general info on German Christmas traditions in Australia. Students can then discuss or write about differences and similarities, and about what's typically German and what's typical for many Australians.
